Exhibit 1: Prescription Bottle from The Owl Drug Store

A surviving remnant of the Owl Pharmacy found discarded in a junkyard and retrieved in virtually perfect condition. You can view this artifact in great detail by opening these any one of three versions in Adobe Acrobat. Once opened, you may zoom in and pan around.

In July of 1862 a member of General Brook's First Brigade wrote home to his wife and children. The letter included sketches and stories for the boys, advise to his wife about a dispute over a melodeons, fatality statistics and speculation on McClellan's strategy for attacking Richmond, VA.

About our Exhibits

What is a museum without exhibits? There are times when an artifact is just too special and unique to bury in the archive library. The Exhibits Department of our Digital Museum with display the more precious items that are a part of our history along with as much research as we can find.

Here are two examples of exhibits that also demonstrate the advantage of digital technology. Exhibit 1, a prescription bottle our ability to provide a view in natural light as well as versions in a color enhanced and black & white modes.
